local restaurant or get something from their own shared, “Students just need to meet expectations

homes. Many students view this a chance to have fun and get a little break from school. As a proposal from Cardinal Corps, open lunch is student-led.

Senior and Cardinal Corps officer Harper Schreiner stated “I think that open lunch is a great opportunity for students to have a break in the day from classes and also support local businesses.”

Students who participated in previous open lunches seemed to have enjoyed having a chance to have a break and have fun with their friends even if for a short period of time. It’s also a great way for students to have a short reset and stretch their legs.

“I think it was a great break from school, when I got back I was ready to get back to classes! I had fun getting food that wasn’t our regular scheduled lunch and talking to my friends in an area that didn’t feel so supervised,” said Trinity Stickley, Jr.

From what Eudora Schools has seen, open lunch is moving on very smoothly and doesn’t appear to need any changes for the future. As long as students continue to use their SOAR ideals they will be ablefor qualifying, and continue to be good citizens in the community when off campus. If they continue to meet the established criteria as it relates to qualifying and having earned the SOAR tickets to purchase, I think things will continue as they are.”
