Abigail Kirk, soon to be Abigail Snyder, is our new agriculture teacher here at Eudora High School. Mrs. Snyder has had a busy start to this semester, not only is she teaching at a new school but she is also getting married!

This is the second year that Mrs. Snyder has been a teacher. Her first position was an agriculture instructor position at the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Career which bused in students from all the Topeka High Schools.

While Mrs. Snyder was at an agricultural contest with her Topeka students, she ran into EHS students and staff.  She found out that the agriculture and FFA position was open and took interest.

“Once I got more familiar with the town and the position itself and the program’s history, I pretty much fell in love with it,” Mrs. Snyder said. “ It was definitely more my style and what I feel comfortable with.”

Eudora’s award-winning FFA chapter will also have a new sponsor. With Eudora having a strong rural population, students taking agriculture live and breathe the farm every day. That culture is something Mrs. Snyder is excited to work with and teach.

“The students themselves are really excited and really eager to see where the program goes,” Mrs. Snyder mentioned.

Mrs. Snyder loves the Eudora High community and how well they treat their teachers. She was elated to find that the teachers were like “one big family.”

“The community is really good at reaching out with whatever we need.” Mrs. Snyder expresses. “Really good at helping teachers, especially helping the kids.”

Balancing: New Staff Member Abigail Snyder instructed an agriculture class in August. Mrs. Snyder had a busy August tying the knot while settling into a new district.
