Culinary Receives Generous Donation From Oklahoma Joe’s

Chef Low joked about how most schools don’t get to teach their students how to smoke and Oklahoma Joe’s, a local Bar-B-Que restaurant, gave them the opportunity by donating a new smoker to the culinary department.

“They really wanted to do something for the school. They really want to get in on what we do here.” said Low as he talked about the smoker.

Low has big plans for the smoker including fundraisers and serving bratwursts at football games instead of “pre-made hotdogs”.

He also goes on saying, “Having this smoker out with smoke pouring out of it like it is, that’s a big kind of eye candy for some people.”

Low isn’t the only one excited for the donated smoker, the students also were excited over the donation. Low ended the interview reminding everyone of the pleasures that a smoker could bring for everyone, “learning to smoke, learning to barbecue is something everyone secretly, I think, wants to do.”
