Many schools in Kansas travel to Rim Rock and compete, not only high school but also college level schools. On Saturday, Sept. 28 the Cardinals traveled to Lawrence and got the chance to compete on this course.

Though the course is one of the best in the Midwest, the weather was not the best. With the heavy rain showers, the course was muddy, but this had no effect on senior Gunnar Norris.  This weather made the run more exciting for Norris.

He said, “Rim Rock is a natural blast, the best course of the whole season. Bringing the rain and mud into the picture makes it so much better. I loved it.”

This is not the first time Norris has competed on this course. Norris has competed there for four years and has run the course a total of six times.

The Lady Cards ran phenomenally and placed ninth out of 54 schools.  Freshman Ashleigh Hicks placed 44th and senior Kelsey Balluch came in right behind her placing 45th.

The boys ran very well, coming in 14th of 53 schools with junior Jon Miller leading the Cardinals, placing 10th. Norris came in after Miller placing 51st.

The Cardinals ran hard and competed well. The next meet the Cardinals will compete in is here in Eudora on Thursday, Oct. 10
