Some students count down every day until the bell rings releasing them from school. With a new system in place, many of these students get the chance to get out of school early a couple of days each month.

“I think it is a nice change to have a break out of school,” said sophomore Paige Rockhold.

After 2 years in the making, the PBS groups decided to create a reward system for students that allows them to be rewarded for following certain guidelines.

“We needed an award for students that do as they are supposed to everyday,” said Mr. Buie.

Students earn the early out privilege if they have no absences, no tardies, no majors or minors, and an A, B, or C in every class.

“I just hope that attendance goes up, tardies go down, and grades go up,” said Mr. Buie.

Any student that doesn’t reach the requirements needed must stay in their last hour and work on late work or homework until 3:15.

So now all those clock-watching students won’t have to watch so much throughout the year.
