This year, Eudora welcomed a new superintendent, Stu Moeckel. Mr. Moeckel traveled from Madison, Kansas. At his previous school, he served as a high school principal and a superintendent. Housing roughly 250 children, Madison-Virgil USD 386 is comparably small to our Eudora district.

Moeckel comes from a family of educators and has spent 18 years in schools. Moeckel wanted to be more than just a teacher, so he started to work with the community when he was younger. Always looking for more opportunities.

“One thing I’ve noticed about Eudora and from talking to people is that everyone cares about the community, and the community is centered around the schools… It’s great,” said Mr. Moeckel.

Moeckel is excited about this year, especially because it is his first year in the Eudora district. He has enabled “Stay and Play Plans” with our school board, which he hopes puts a “Eudora Spin” on how our community deals with COVID-19 in our school districts.

“I think there it just puts a Eudora spin on things, it makes it more friendly and community based,” said Moeckel.

This year, Moeckel is excited to get to know students in our district and has children of his own in each school building. He is enjoying and encouraging students to be a part of all of the opportunities offered to them.
