The prom season is in full swing, and the date is right around the corner – but there are tons of activities going on the same day of prom. Chaos! In addition to scheduled performances for the EHS choir and band, The ACT is being administered here at Eudora High School on the morning of April 14.

Junior Lindsey Nebel is one student that is taking the test and is not happy about it.

“This really upsets me that I have to take the ACT on prom,” Nebel said, “Now I have one more thing to worry about on prom day, and I don’t have as much time as others to get ready and go get my hair done, my nails, and my spray tan done.”

Nebel had no other choice to squeeze in taking the ACT on a day that is full of fun, but she will make it happen.

“I plan on managing my time by hauling butt to get ready and be happy with everything,” Nebel said.

Another important event going on is the regional choir and band festival, which will be going on all day long. Many students will have a full day of singing and playing.

“I think that the fact that regionals on prom is not that big of a deal because Eudora is doing a really good job with getting us all morning times to perform.” said Collin Decker, Sr.

Collin will be participating in the festival and will be singing a solo and two small ensembles the same day. Decker hopes to perform his very best for the judges and still plans on getting back in time to have a good time at prom.

“I plan on just scheduling everything I need to do in the afternoon and then just doing it quickly. I’m not to worried about it because I’m a boy and only take 30 minutes to get ready,” Decker said.

Don’t forget about After-Prom! Students will be up late and exhausted from events throughout the day, as well as prom. After-Prom will be taking place at Eudora Middle School from midnight to 6:30 am. Doors to the event will close at 12:30 am.
