In just three weeks, 14 EHS students will venture to Peru for the trip of a lifetime. Out of curiosity, we at The Cardinal took the liberty to ask several of them a few questions.

What are you most looking forward to in Peru?

Lauren Gabriel (Senior, third trip with Mr. Tharp): Being able to use the Spanish that I’ve learned here, the culture, and Mr. Tharp acting like a little girl on the Amazon.

Grant Stewart (Senior, third trip with Mr. Tharp): Machu Picchu and the culture.

Skyler Manley (Senior, first trip with Mr. Tharp): Getting to experience a culture different from ours.

Laken (Senior, second trip with Mr. Tharp): Learning about the environment and the people

Abby Jackson (Junior, second trip with Mr. Tharp): Seeing a different culture.

Do you see anything going wrong?

Lauren: Hannah is going to lose her passport again and somebody will lose a limb to a snake

Laken: I can see people getting sick

Grant: People getting passports stolen.

Skyler: I don’t have any worries.

Abby: Besides a plane crash, no.

Are you planning on trying cuy (guinea pig)?

Lauren: Of course

Grant: Heck yeah

Laken: It depends…

Skyler: Yes.

Abby: FOR REAL, IS THAT A THING?

What are your top selfie destinations in Peru?

Lauren: Machu Picchu and with a mariachi band

Grant: Machu Picchu

Skyler: Machu Picchu

Laken: Machu Picchu

Abby: Machu Picchu, Maras Salt Ponds, and the Amazon
