On a cold, rainy, and breezy Thursday, April 24 Eudora High School hosted the Cardinal Relays. The Cardinal Relays is a very tough meet to compete in and although the Cardinals competed very hard, there were no first place finishes.

On the contrary, the Cardinals did have a lot of second place finishers and some set new school records. Seniors Kennedy O’Dell, Kelsey Balluch, and Jacob Travis, all placed second in their events.

O’Dell threw the shot put 40 feet 2 inches and the discus 123 feet 9 inches. Travis throw the javelin 158 feet  3 inches. Balluch ran very strong in both the one and two mile races placing second in both events.

Sophomore Kristi Daigh jumped 4 feet 9 inches in the high jump, placing second.

Freshman Braeden Manley not only placed second in pole vault but also set the freshman record reaching 11 feet 5 inches.

The Lady Cards track team finished third of the 10 teams that competed and the boys finished fifth.

The Cardinals are showing a lot of improvement and will compete again Friday, May 2 in De Soto at the De Soto Invite.
