Senior Anna Brown is looking with eager eyes to the future as she finishes up her final class in the Health Careers sequence. Brown began taking classes as an eighth grader and has since discovered a passion for nursing. Through the coursework she has earned her CNA, and she currently serves as a certified nursing assistant at a local retirement home. Brown believes her time in Health Careers has been invaluable and also encourages others with any interest in the field to try the class.

“Anyone who is considering Health Careers, anything from nursing to considering being a doctor [should take the class],” said Brown.

Brown’s instructor Andrea Pyle has been one of her biggest inspirations. She is quick to credit her with deepening her interest in medicine.

“She’s really good about helping me figure out who I am and what my exact goals are for the future,” Brown said of Pyle.

Brown laughed with the Cardinal staff as she recounted some of the shenanigans the class enjoyed while on various field trips and grew even happier when she talked about the three key things her class truly boiled down to.

“Fun, exciting, and hands on,” Brown said, describing her class with a toothy grin.

Brown plans to apply the knowledge she has accumulated in the future as a nursing major at Neosho County Community College. If you are interested in a Health Careers class see Mr. Misse for more information.
