Coach Emily Gloshen has taken the reins at Eudora High as the new head coach for the Cardinals. Although Gloshen is the new head coach of the team, she isn’t new to the team in general. Gloshen has been the assistant coach here at Eudora for the past three years. Coach Gloshen also played soccer at Eudora High School and then went on to play in college. The team is thrilled to have such an experienced and familiar coach.

“I am very grateful to have the opportunity to coach here at Eudora.” declared Gloshen.

The soccer team kicked off the season with their first game against Ottawa on September 3rd. The Cardinals lost 10-0 but the team wasn’t going to let that get them down.

“I know we are going to be successful. It may not be success on the scoreboard, but I think as long as we play our heart out we are successful.” said senior Alex Bock.

“It’s not going to be easy and we’re going to have to work hard to improve if we want to win.” said Freshman Sam Campbell.

Hard work paid off when the Cardinals played Paola and won 1-0 with Justin Toumberlin scoring the goal to seal the deal.

The team played their first home game on September 10th against Spring Hill. The Cardinals fell to the Broncos 3-0 after a hard fought game. The Cardinals then turned around and traveled to De Soto on September 12th and lost to the Wildcats 9-0. The Baldwin Bulldogs traveled to our home stadium on September 16th. After a well played game the Cardinals lost 4-0.
