Mr. Pickett can be found in the science hallway where he teaches classes such as Physical Science and Biology. He has been teaching in the Eudora school district for 14 years.

Joe Pickett was born in Goodland, KS. He grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from Lawrence High School as a Chesty Lion. After high school, he studied Secondary Science Education at the University of Kansas.

When Mr. Pickett was in his mid-20’s, he met Shannon Smith. They met at a wedding that they both attended with other dates. After about four years, he asked her to marry him. On August 3, 2003, they got married.

On February 11, 2005, Mr. Pickett’s little girl was born. Josie is now eight and she likes gymnastics, basketball and her iPod. On November 29, 2008, Mr. Pickett’s son Brett was born. Today, Brett is four and he enjoys trains and NASCAR. Their house is completed by their dog, Teddy, cat, Cooper, and tortoise, Gabriel.

In his free time, Mr. Pickett likes to work on his old motorcycle, repair stringed instruments, garden, collect KU sports memorabilia, vinyl records, insects, reptiles and skulls, ride horses, geocache and camp. Mr. Pickett likes to read, but he prefers to read articles. His favorite book is Last Child in the Woods. He likes movies in the genre of suspense and documentary, and his favorites are Pan’s Labyrinth, District 9, 300, Office Space and Spinal Tap. Mr. Pickett also really enjoys playing his mandolin, octuemand, mandola, tenor, banjo, bass, fiddle and guitar. His favorite band is always the band he is playing in at the time.

At Eudora High, Mr. Pickett will be found in the science hallway. The classes he currently teaches are Physical Science and Biology. His room is notable because you often find Gabe, his tortoise, crawling in and out of it.
