Ho Hey- The Lumineers; 4 out of 5 stars; “It may be an anomaly to see an alternative song gracing the top spot, but The Lumineers easily secure it with a light-hearted song that captures a truly happy spirit that rarely appears in music today.”
I Will Wait- Mumford and Sons; 5 out of 5 stars; “What happens when you blend folk sound, a killer lead vocalist, and beautifully crafted lyrics? Mumford and Sons. This lead song from new album Babel insures the group a place in music history.”
Suit & Tie (feat. Jay-Z)- Justin Timberlake; 3 out of 5 stars; “Famous for its face and voice rather than its actual musical value, the track highlights uninspired expletives. Rather than adding a spice and context to the song, the lyrics leave you lost and wanting to bring Sexy Back.”
Daylight- Maroon 5; 4 out 5 stars; “A refreshing return to the group’s best from the past, think She Will Be Loved rather than Misery. The track succeeds with solid lyrics and a soft pop rock feeling.”
When I Was Your Man- Bruno Mars; 5 out of 5 stars; “Bruno Mars slows it down a bit for this ballad that soars above the rest. The track is solid from top to bottom and absolutely overflows with sincerity-a home run that should be the first thing you download.”
Locked Out Of Heaven- Bruno Mars; 3 out of 5 stars; “Bruno Mars takes things to a different level in his second spot in the countdown with this rhythm driven pop song. It moves with ease but lacks a certain complexity and memorability.”
Carry On- Fun.; 3 out of 5 stars; “The latest track by smash hit masters Fun. pales in comparison to past offerings. Not the most memorable song but catchy enough to earn a spot in the Top 10.”
I Knew You Were Trouble- Taylor Swift; 3 out of 5 stars; “To say it will get stuck in your head would be the understatement of the year. Although Taylor’s latest offering has little else than a chorus that sticks like glue, you won’t be able to avoid humming along.”
The A Team- Ed Sheeran; 4 out of 5 stars; “Ed Sheeran maintains his status as a near overnight sensation with The A Team, the song that refuses to go away. Sheeran has a unique sound that has proven quite divisive, you will love it or hate it but give it a try!”
We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)- Fun.; 5 out of 5 Stars; “There are only a few times in a generation that a song is released that manages to exactly capture life in that moment and we label these perfect snapshots anthems. We Are Young earns this title and then some. Looking back on high school this will likely be the song you can’t forget.”
