EHS gained a new trainer in January, her name

is Jordan Erickson. In May of 2018, Erickson graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor’s of

science, and majored in athletic training. Right after
graduation she started a job with Kansas City Bone
and Joint in Overland Park and worked there for
about seven months.
Later on, Erickson switched jobs and will now
complete her first year as a trainer here at Eudora
High School. She has been loving every moment of it.
“Eudora High has been so unbelievably helpful
and understanding over my first few weeks here,”
said Erickson. ”Coming from the small town of Perry,
I really appreciate the tight-knit community.”
Erickson has also been impressed with our school.
“Eudora High gives their students opportunities
that a lot of other high schools and even colleges are
unable to provide,” Erickson said. “I love that Eudora
puts their students first and truly prepares them for
the real world.”
A typical day in the Eudora Athletic Training
Room is very hectic for Erickson but in a great way!

Kids from all different sports come rushing in right after the bell rings at the end of the day. It’s a constant

battle for the heating pads for many of the athletes.
You will most often find her jumping from person to
person doing treatments and evaluations on athletes.
Once the chaos has subsided (it lasts for about
10 minutes says Erickson) she sits down and does
her notes for the day. The logs which kids came in,

what they came in for, what her diagnosis was, any
treatments that were given, etc.
While she’s not here at the high school helping
kids, works at OrthoKansas in Lawrence during the
mornings. She helps the PTs move through their day
by helping them with whatever they may need.
She finds it helpful to also work at OrthoKansas
because some of the athletes from Eudora come to
see the doctors and PTs. She can pop her head in

and get a quick update on how the athlete is progressing which helps her develop a better under-
standing of what she will need to do for them once

they are done with PT or after seeing the doctor.
