Boys Basketball Team Welcomes Back Injured Players

On Tuesday, Jan. 7 the EHS basketball team played a good Baldwin Bulldogs team. The game was tight throughout with the score changing hands many times. In the end the Cardinals just couldn’t close them out, and the Bulldogs came away with a 59-54 win.

In the game against Baldwin, the team saw seniors Andrew Ballock and Skylar Shockley for the first time since their injuries sidelined them. The team should be excited to have them back as they are important parts of the team and add some senior leadership to it as well.

“I feel really good; I hated not being out there with my team,” said Shockley.

Shockley was out for a couple weeks due to a foot injury he got in a tournament earlier this season and in his first game back it was hard to see that he missed any time at all as he didn’t miss a beat.

“It feels good finally getting out there. I missed it,” said Ballock

Ballock hadn’t played at all yet in the season due to a broken ankle he got all

the way back during football season. because he was a leader of the team last year, his teammates should be looking forward to having him out there with him on the court for the rest of the year.

The Cardinal’s next game was on Friday, Jan. 10 at home against the Desoto Wildcats. The Cardinals had their “A” game this time around and held the Wildcats in check. Eudora lead the whole game and ended up getting the W by a double digit win. The final score was 56-43.

The EHS basketball team will travel to Ottawa to face the Cyclones on Friday, Jan. 17.
