High School Code – Your not so normal survival guide to highschool

By Mariana Rosales

Your class doesn’t have to define you.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t show respect for your elders. Being a senior myself, I have walked these halls for three years, and they have flown by without any problems with any upperclassmen. That doesn’t mean I avoided them, in fact, I had many friends that were in other classes. Upperclassmen, don’t be all high and mighty because soon you will be on the bottom of the food chain again, and karma will nip you in the butt like a dog chasing a mailman. High school is just a giant circle of respect; it’s kind of like a dysfunctional ecosystem, but I don’t eat freshmen and I hope they don’t eat grass. I know everyone looks forward to senior year.  I have, but don’t try to be a senior if you aren’t one yet. Don’t walk the halls like you own the place, be polite, smile say hi or just be silent, whatever you feel more comfortable with. It’s so much better than bumping shoulders and exchanging scowls. This also goes to seniors who act like freshmen. I recommend that you do not sass talk the teacher after they tell you stop doing whatever you are doing because that is literally first grade stuff. You are going to be an adult soon, quit acting like you need your mommy to put you in time out. Peace out.
