Christmas lights, sleigh rides, and hot chocolate delights! Holiday season is back, and people all over the country are decorating for Christmas once again. Yet, how early is too early to decorate?

Biology and Physics teacher, Joe Pickett, has a few words of his own, “Anytime before Thanksgiving seems too early,” said Pickett. “No, I don’t enjoy decorating, it seems like a lot of extra clutter to me.”

Mr. Pickett may not like to decorate, but Mrs. Pickett wouldn’t miss it for the world. Mr. Pickett always starts decorating when his wife asks him to drag in the Christmas tree.

Senior, Paige Dudley, also agrees that Christmas decorating should not start before Thanksgiving.

“I feel like if you put it up before [Thanksgiving], you’re taking away from that day to be thankful and kinda just rushing into Christmas,” said Dudley.

Dudley enjoys the holiday season and she feels there is never too extra, when it comes to Christmas decorating and spending time with the family. Traditions are a big part of her household and getting together with family and friends for the holidays is something Dudley looks forward to each year.

Corrie Jackson, English and Comp teacher here at Eudora, wants to ensure the happiness of others for the holidays.

“I think if preparing for a holiday makes someone happy, they should do that whenever they see fit,” said Jackson.

Mr. Jackson begins decorating right after Thanksgiving, because it is a tradition in his family. He believes that there is never a wrong time to begin decorating though, especially… if it makes you happy!

Dakota Copeland, Jr., has the same beliefs. Copeland put his Christmas decorations out for display the week following Halloween.

“I believe that you can never be too early for the holidays!” said Copeland. “If you want to keep your Christmas decorations up all year, that would be fine by me.”

Whether it’s string lights, Santa inflatables, or a beautiful tree, decorating for Christmas is meant to ensure the happiness of the great citizens in Eudora. Do what makes you happy during this holiday season – Happy Holidays!
