New Staff Profile: Mallory Raugewitz-Blick

Mallory Raugewitz-Blick is Eudora High School’s new ninth – 10th English, Debate, and Forensics teacher. This is the first time Eudora High School has seen a Debate and Forensics class.  Raugewitz-Blick came from a much bigger school, Shawnee Heights. While she was over there she taught Honors Soph. Public Speaking and Debate and Forensics for seven years. Eudora is a lot smaller than Shawnee Heights, and it’s a big change going from 1300 students to just a little over 500. “Even though the change may be drastic” she really seems to enjoy little Eudora.

Raugewitz-Blick, also known as Ms. RB is not from Eudora, she drives out here everyday from Topeka with It may seem like a far drive for everyday work but for her, it’s worth it.

 “The commute is kinda nice though… having that time to gear up in the morning…” said Raugewitz-Blick.

 Raugewitz-Blick l was the last one to get interviewed at Eudora, and she was very hesitant about leaving her school of seven years. After getting the call from Mr. Abel, she had to take a minute and think about taking up the offer. 

Raugewitz-Blick was gleeful and anxious about her decision, she was sad of leaving her old school and not seeing her students again, but after teaching a week in at Eudora she is very happy here. 

Raugewitz-Blick has enjoyed the change and the new friendly faces here at Eudora, and believes the students here are what make it worth it. 

“…all of you are really great kids…” said Raugewitz-Blick. 

Raugewitz-Blick really enjoys teaching, and believes that teachers have a tremendous impact on students after they graduate. Students will see the high and the lows of teaching from their teachers and sometimes that pushes them to become teachers. Without teachers we wouldn’t be the way we are today and may become. Raugewitz-Blick knows this from her past teachers, good and bad, which helped find her love for teaching. Raugewitz-Blick has only been teaching for a couple weeks here at Eudora but is really enjoying her time here. 

Raugewitz-Blick’s favorite thing about Eudora High is the students and staff, just how nice and caring everyone is here, and she wants to leave the same impact to her students here.
