STORY BY KHLOE CRAWSHAW » This year, Eudora High School, is performing ‘The Addams Family Musical’. When you’re an Addams, the allure of death is just around every corner.

The famous family is well known in pop culture for the movies and TV shows about them, and now they take the stage in a new comedy musical that first hit the Broadway stage in 2010.

While the family has always known happy to be sad, and darkness to be the stuff of dreams, things are changing. Wednesday Addams, now an 18-year-old girl, is finding herself being pulled in new directions. She has fallen in love with a ‘normal’ boy, Lucas Beineke, and they plan to introduce his family to hers in a dinner at the notorious Addams family mansion. When Morticia and Gomez learn of this family dinner to meet the Beinekes, secrets threaten to be fully disclosed, and Addams family members that are living, dead, and undecided, all want one thing: a normal night.

The students that are part of the musical are excited to show off all of the work in dancing, singing, and acting from in the last two months.

Lilli Stires, Jr., believes that people should be excited to see “all the kids on stage doing their best.”

The cast has been hard at work, and tech week rehearsals are planned to run until 9:30 each night.

Students are “putting all of the time to show up to rehearsal and practicing,” said Stires, who plays an Addams ancestor in the show. They are prepared to shine in spotlight, and hope to see many people there!
