STORY BY BREE MOORE »
Every year EHS welcome’s new people
to our staff and into our community.
One of our new members of the staff this
year is Jessica Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is
the Freshman Orientation and Strive for
Success teacher, and she also works with
other teachers with MTSS and PBIS.
Before Johnson was introduced to

Eudora High School, she worked at Wash-
burn Rural High School in Topeka. For the

last 15 years she has lived in Lawrence,
and is happy that she now has a much
shorter drive to school.
It is now several weeks into the school
year and Johnson is loving it here at EHS.
“EHS has been a great transition
school,” Johnson said, “I love the smaller
school setting. Students and staff have
been very nice and accepting.”
One thing that Johnson loves about
teaching is that she really enjoys getting
to work one-on-one with students and
show them they can be successful in
high school despite obstacles that might
get in their way. She also enjoys helping
students to work through any difficulties
that they might run into and helping
them to succeed.
“This year I am really looking forward
to being closer to school so I can be there
for events and get to know students both

in and out of the classroom,” said Johnson.
