Sean Hayden is more than just the new

head football coach at Eudora High
School. While juggling football and
teaching weightlifting, he still finds time
in the day for his family. Eudora was the
perfect fit for him, his son Hudson and
his wife.

As soon as Hayden got the oppor-
tunity to take this position, he didn’t

hesitate.
“I knew when I interviewed I was
going to take it,” Hayden explained, “so

when they called I didn’t give it a sec-
ond thought. I said yes right on the spot.”

Coach Hayden has the coaching
experience that Eudora needed. He has
coached for 7 years, and previously was
the defensive coordinator at Augusta

High School where he worked for six
years. He also played football in high
school and college, which set him up for
excellence as a coach.
“In high school I really enjoyed my
coaches and learned a lot from them. I
knew it was something I wanted to do
with my life.” Hayden says. Augusta
High School is a Class 4A school, so

moving to Eudora wasn’t a difficult tran-
sition.

“It wasn’t a big change size-wise,
and you have everything you need here.”
Even though Coach Hayden stays
busy, he has no problem finding time for
his family.
“If my wife and son are awake, they
have my full focus, no matter what time
of the day.”
What was a change for him though,
was the weight room. Coach Hayden
had a lot of personal experience in the
weight room, with a weights summer
program at his previous employment, but
he hadn’t taught it as a class before.
“The weight room is different, but a
good change,” Hayden said.
Hayden is excited for the year, and ready
for the season to kick off.
“Eudora is the perfect town,” Hayden
explains. “4A is my favorite size school,
we already have great community
support, but I want the community to be
excited, and come out and support us.”
