Candy, Candy, Candy!

The leaves are falling and this year’s Halloween was one for the books. With Halloween came haunted houses, scary movies, trick-or-treating and candy! Candy is one of the most exciting things that comes with this spooky holiday and is always a hit with the kids. Some students at Eudora High School still go trick-or-treating for the love of candy.

“I still go out when my friends go,” said Freshman Jace McCormick. “My favorites are the Mini Snicker and Kit-Kats.”

Chocolate candies like Twix, Crunch Bar, 100 Gram and Milky Way are extremely popular. More chocolate-loving students like Junior Korbin Hiebert, Sophomore Lydia Brown and Sophomore Emily Howard all agree that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are their favorite chocolatey snack.

“The ‘waffleness’ of it is the best,” said Daniel Grosdidier, Frosh.

Other students believe that the sweet and fruity candies are the best. Sweets like Mike and Ikes, Gummy Bears, Sour Patch Kids and the favorite, Skittles are the way to go when eating candy.

Students each have different reasons that they love fruit-flavored candy.

“They are fruity and Marshawn Lynch [the NFL running back for the Oakland Raiders] loves them,” says Sophomore Jake Boucher regarding his favorite candy, Skittles.

Some students will even go so far as to say that the company’s slogan is the reason they love the candy. From Kit-Kat’s “Have a break!” to Skittle’s “Taste the rainbow.”
