New Staff Profile: Mrs. Kristine Schnebly

Story by Taylor Schmidt ≫

Although Kristine Schnebly is new to EHS, she’s not new to the district. Schnebly previously worked as the attendance secretary at Eudora Elementary School. Before working in Eudora, Schnebly earned a degree in mathematics from KU and was a stay-at-home mom to her two kids — one of which is also starting his first year of high school at EHS.

The switch from working at EES to the EHS office has been relatively smooth for Schnebly, but a few changes came along with the transition. One significant difference between the two jobs is the school size, with EES being much larger.

“I probably knew about 880 names. Plus parents,” Schnebly said. She doesn’t see nearly as many parents at EHS and most of the kids at EHS know their phone numbers, which makes her job a little bit easier. One of Schnebly’s favorite things about coming to EHS is the pep rallies, which didn’t occur at EES.

Eudora surprised Schnebly with the amount of growth she’s seen in her short time here. Despite this growth, she still plans to meet as many students as possible and learn as many names as she can.

“One of the biggest changes is that at the elementary school, you can fix almost anything with a hug and an ice pack. Here that doesn’t seem to work quite as well,” Schnebly said.
