The haunted house is a tradition that goes back to 2012 for EHS SADD members. It started as an idea from Broderick Topil for a 5th Quarter activity and eventually lead to a stand alone event the year after. It is their biggest event and fundraiser throughout the whole school year. The SADD members set up 12 rooms each with separate themes conjured up by the whole club. It starts at the gym does nearest the wrestling room, with mazes that lead students down the band/choir hallway, through the black box and finally to an exit out of the auditorium.

“I think students like doing it, and I like to see other students be scared, and to see peers come together to create something,” said Diego Munoz, Sr,. and President of SADD.

Many students enjoy having the ability to create a room any way they want, carefully designed to scare students. Jillian Hopson, Sr,. is planning on doing a room titled “The Attic” with four other seniors. They plan on creating a creepy scene with innocent girls that are hiding in the shadows of the room. As soon as the people walk through they will cry out for help, frightening people as they make their way from that room to the next. SADD members each have different reasons for participating.

“I like to act and dress up,” said Jillian Hopson, Sr.

Event organizers are hoping to exceed last year’s attendance numbers and can’t wait to show off their hard work.
