Artists to Watch

Alt-J and Charlie XCX are some of the artist on Billboard’s Top New Artist to Watch In 2013 list, that claimed their fame this past year. The list is typically posted in January of the New Year, but the artists don’t make their way to the top for about one to two years. Charlie XCX stepped into the limelight with her hit single Boom Clap which appeared in “The Fault In Our Stars.” Since then the artist has seen immense success just as the list implied.
Seeing as though it takes most of the artists an extra year to make it to the forefront, we are looking towards Billboard’s list of new artist to watch in 2014. The list is comprised of fourteen of the most promising new artist of today’s cutting edge music scene. Some, like Sam Smith have already made it big in the music world; others like FKA Twigs have been heard of by very few and have a way to go. Not every artist on the list will strike gold this year but they all should be watched in the upcoming year.
