Frozen: A Review
By: Camden Leary
Every once in awhile, there is a child marketed movie that grabs the attention of, not only kids, but teenagers and adults. Disney’s new animated film, Frozen is one of those movies. With beautiful animations and ear pleasing songs, Frozen takes viewers through a series of plot twists pulling them off without a hitch. According to RottenTomatoes.com, the giddy child’s film received an average of 7.7 starts out of 10 from the critics on the website. Despite many “fangirling” reviews there were some critics that were not so fond of the new film. They have ranged from critics thinking it just goes through the typical Disney motions. Other critics suggest that viewers just skip the movie and buy the album. So, maybe Disney missed the mark for some, but the overall consensus was that Frozen was full of very exciting twists and turns with music climbing the billboard charts, hitting the top 10 this past week. Adding to the list of accomplishments for this animated film, Frozen won the 2014 Golden Globe for best animated feature film. There have also been many rumors of Frozen hitting the Broadway scene along with toys, rides, sequels, and more.
As for my personal opinion, I surprisingly enjoyed this film. I went into the theater with the expectation to be viewing yet another cliche children’s film that I would not be impressed with, but I came out of the theater with a completely different opinion. I had the songs stuck in my head for days after the movie and have been eagerly awaiting the movie to come out on DVD so that I can watch it again. So, if it isn’t too much of a blow to your “very macho persona,” Frozen is a very entertaining movie and is definitely worth your time.
