STORY BY KHLOE CRAWSHAW »
Allison Enneking is making her way
into the spotlight as the new choral
director for Eudora High School and
Eudora Middle School. Enneking worked
for four years at Paola High School and
Middle School as their choral director
before coming to Eudora.
When she isn’t hiking with her two dogs
and singing in the ‘Tall Grass Chamber
Choir’, an outside choir, Enneking is
usually found with her five month old
daughter, Adelaide, who takes up much
of her time.
“It seems like every week she can do
something new… she’s changing really
fast – but in an exciting way,” Enneking
said.
Enneking graduated from Emporia
State and sang in multiple choirs there,
including the a capella and chambers
choir. She believes that the choirs here
at Eudora are comparable to her choir
experience in college because of the
family mentality that comes with being
part of the Eudora choral department.
“That’s part of what makes me so
happy about choir here, how people talk
about choir as a community and as a

family,” she said. Enneking is also ex-
cited this year to see the inner workings

of the musical, The Addams Family,
because this is the first musical she has
gotten the opportunity to direct.
Enneking’s favorite part of being a
choir teacher is that she gets to work

with students every day, and she es-
pecially loves choosing songs that the

choirs will love to sing.
“When the choir hears a song and
thinks ‘oh my gosh that’s amazing’ and
are really excited to work really hard on
it,” Enneking said, “that’s the best time
I have teaching a piece to a group.”
