Winter Sports Wrap Up

Story by Bree Moore »

The Eudora Cardinals are wrapping up the Winter sports season with still some teams going strong and competing, but some have to come to an end. Great job on another season, Cardinals – stay tuned for Spring Sports!

Boys Basketball

Last Game: 9th/JV/V Feb. 20 @ Ottawa

Up Next: Sub-State @ Bishop Miege on March 2

“My favorite memory of this year is probably the student section. They support us no matter what the score is and we still have 30+ students for any away game no matter the time or place. They support us and I love that about Eudora, our student section has always been the best and I will miss that,” said Tanner Rocha, Sr.

Girls Basketball

Last Game: 9th/JV/V Feb. 20 @ Ottawa

Up Next: Sub-State @ Bishop Miege on March 1

“My favorite memory is all the funny moments we have roasting each other especially when we roast Cat. Cat gets mad when we roast her so it makes it so much more funny. We all have a good bond together that all we do is joke around and when we are having fun it makes the whole high school experience better,” said Devin Purcell, Sr.

Wrestling

Last Meet: State Feb. 24 in Salina

“I like how hard Gus pushed us to make us better and really does care about all the wrestlers and he shows it. Me personally I liked having the challenge of being a freshman on varsity wrestling seniors and juniors all season because I really think it helped me become a better wrestler,“ said Cael Lynch, Frosh.

Choir

Coming up: Platinum Tryouts March 5th and 6th and Music In Our Schools concert March 5th

“I have been terrible this year about practicing for tryouts, but I still don’t feel that nervous. I know the songs really well, I just need to go over once or twice with my teachers,“ said Emily Hemberg, Jr.

Band

Coming up: Music In Our Schools Concert March 6

“I feel pretty good about about our concert in March. We are playing some more intricate pieces and i think if we all focus we can really make some music out of them,“ said Isabel Barrera, Jr.

Scholar’s Bowl

Last Meet: State @ Girard Feb. 10

“What I loved most about this season is that no matter what happened during meets, everyone enjoyed the game and each other, also I loved how well the team collaborated with each other and had fun,” said Alexander Vonderbrink, Frosh.
