Spring break is here. Everyone is ready to stop worrying about school, relax and sleep in, or work. This year, the only journey most students are making is the long trip from their bed to the couch for quality relaxing.

But not everyone is staying home. Senior siblings Oliver and Anika Jobe, are taking a sun-filled trip to Florida to see their grandparents.

“Our Grandparents are getting older and we wanna see them. I’m ecstatic to go” Anika said.

“We’re going to a small town just outside of Orlando, called Somerville,” Oliver said.

Skipping a brother-sister car trip, the two siblings have decided to take a plane to  their destination in an effort to get the most time with their grandparents.

Oliver has additional places he wants to visit while he’s there.

“I’m gonna go to the beach and going to Disney World and Gator World,” Oliver said. “I’m gonna bring back a trinket for my mom or some lotion or some sea shells.”

Students aren’t the only ones relaxing over break, even some teachers are planning to head straight into their vacation while school is out.

Mr. Peltzman and his family will be continuing their five-year tradition of camping in their RV.

“Usually on spring break we made a tradition of going to Clinton State Park. We usually stay for three nights, and we stay at camp ground 1.” Peltzman said.

They plan on continuing the traditions.

“We usually do some hiking or some fishing,” Peltzman went on to describe, “Or work on showing my son how to make a fire and my daughter how to cook.”

Peltzman’s favorite part of camping is taking a much-needed break from the hectic pace of everyday life.

“[We] just unplug for three days, no electronics,” Peltzman said, “I really like the connection with my kids and connecting with my family. I look forward to the being bored.”

Whether it’s only hanging out and not worrying about school or just simple vacationing, spring break is a time to have fun.
