Winter Activities Update

Story by Bree Moore »

The Cardinals’ winter sports are still going strong – with lots of wins. A wide variety of groups, both athletic and academic, have been traveling and representing our school. All have been hard at work with recent meets, practices and games. Be loud and proud, and cheer on your Eudora Cardinals at the upcoming events.

Also be sure to stay tuned for spring sports as they start to condition and get ready for this season.

Boys Basketball

Last Game: 9th/JV/V @ Tongie, Jan. 26

Up Next: 9th/JV/V @ Louisburg, Feb. 2

“The best part so far has just been the process of working with our team as a whole and getting better as we grow, and showing that we don’t need specific people to win a game and do well ‘cause we work just as hard as a team.” said William Younkin, Sr.

Girls Basketball

Last Game: 9th/ JV/V @ Tongie, Jan. 26

Up Next: 9th/JV/V @ Louisburg, Feb. 2

“My favorite part about the season is how everyone is so close and how we and joke around with each other and cheer each other on. The best part though is the post win after a close game.” said. Harleigh Moore, Frosh.

Wrestling

Last Meet: JV/V @ Paola, Jan. 30

Up Next: JV/V @ EHS vs De Soto – Senior Night, Feb. 1

“The best memory of wrestling this year I would say is the team winning the Eudora tournament we had one weekend,“ said Elijah Kennedy, Sr.

Cheer

Coming up: Baldwin Cheer and Festival @ Baldwin, Feb. 3

“I am most nervous about being in front of a crowd and messing up for competition. The pressure of having to perform in front of of people is not a feeling I’m used to quite yet, “said Tristan Croucher, Jr.

Dance

Coming up: Little Dancer Event @ Eudora, Feb. 9

“I love how we have each others back and never leave someone hanging. If someone has a problem then it’s everyone else’s problem too. I also love how on my first day they made me feel like I was already apart of the team, and another thing is there is no separation because of grade level, we are all one big family.” said Michaela Stafford, Frosh.

Choir

Coming up: Preparation for Music in Our Schools Month concert in March

“For me personally I have always had an anxiety of singing in front of people,” said Shaunna Hoover, Soph., “I have let my insecurity of thinking I don’t sound good control me. Ms. Coffman has opened me up and showed me that I am a good singer. So this year I decided to be in two small groups and learn a solo for contest, and prove I can.“

Band

Coming up: Piano Regional Festival, Feb. 3 & Baker University Honor Band Festival, Feb. 8

“The thing I love most about band right now is the performance and the accomplishments, working hard, and having it pay off is a great feeling.“said Brayden Yoder-Mulkey, Jr.

Scholar’s Bowl

Last Meet: V @ Paola, Jan. 25

Coming up: Regionals Feb. 1

“The best thing about scholars bowl for me is that I get to do what I love with all of my friends. We are one big nerdy family and that’s what I love most about it. And, while having fun, we have a really good shot at making it to state this year in February, so that is something huge to be excited about together.” said Emily Hull, Sr.
