New Staff Profile: Mr. Jim Barnard
Story by Fabian Rosales ≫
From coaching cross country to teaching sine, cosine, and tangent in Geometry, Jim Barnard has got it down. Barnard is not new to teaching, for he moved here from Riley County High School in Manhattan, Kansas. Back at his old school, he taught Algebra II, College Algebra, Trigonometry and AP Calculus.
When Barnard first came to Eudora, the community left him with a good first impression.
“I remember how friendly and supportive everyone was when I came here,” said Barnard.
Now a full-time mathematics teacher at Eudora, he teaches Geometry, Math III and Algebra II.
He didn’t come to Eudora alone. He came here with his wife, three daughters, two dogs and three cats. While moving to a new town is often difficult, Barnard was able to find a house that he will have to make changes to. Barnard is going to spend this whole year remodeling his new home.
“We have to remodel every room in the house,” he said, “Hopefully we’ll be finished by Thanksgiving.”
