New Staff Profile: Ms. Camille Kerr

Story by Brett Breedlove ≫

It’s Power Hour, and Special Education Teacher Camille Kerr is sitting in her room quietly enjoying the silence. Kerr is in her first year of teaching at Eudora High School. She is an experienced teacher and taught out of state earlier in her career. Ms. Kerr was born in California, but grew up in New York. She now lives with her husband and three children.

“Feeling welcomed here,” was her biggest surprise here at Eudora.

When Ms. Kerr was asked about the best day of her life, she said there were too many choices to pick just one. When it boiled down to her final decision, she went with her marriage and the birth of each of her three children.

Ms. Kerr began her teaching career in Florida, where she taught middle school for 16 years and elementary school for three years.

Like all teachers, Ms. Kerr wouldn’t be able to do her job without the proper education. She first received her Bachelor’s degree at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. After undergraduate studies,  she went to Florida Atlantic University and earned her Master’s degree, and more recently earned her Educational Specialist degree from Fort Hays State University.
