Students should stock up now on paint rollers, brushes and their favorite colors of non-slip paint. Senior Advisory has formally suggested to the administration allowing senior parking spots to be assigned to individual students and personally painted starting next year.

Mr. Abel has tentatively approved the idea.

“This is a good idea,” said Diego Munoz, Sr., “but I wish It would be able to affect us more. Meaning I wish we would be able to have reserve spots for a longer time. That way we could be able to decorate them as well.”

In December, Senior Advisory sent a poll to all the students asking if they would want this as an option for next year. They are still awaiting definite approvals, but have a meeting March 1 for final decisions.

Students will have to pay for their own paint and the artwork would have to be appropriate for school. Most likely, the school would set up a date where the seniors would be able to sign up for their spot on a first-come first-serve basis. This should allow students enough time to plan ahead and figure out when they want to begin decorating their spot.

“I think it would be cool to do it,” said Devin Purcell, Jr., “It could let people express themselves and show who they are. I also think it would be cool to have our own personal spot and park in the same spot every day. The bad thing for me would be I have no artistic ability so mine would look worse than others.”
