Pet peeves
story by Bree Moore
Different people can have unique pet peeves that may seem odd to those around them.
Sarah Sollars, Soph., has a huge pet peeve of water and her hands. She said that if water makes
one of her hands wet, she then feels like she has to get the other wet to make it even.
“It gets annoying because if I don’t get one hand wet I have to rewash them, and this happens everytime I wash my hands,” Sollars said. She says people think it’s weird of her to have this pet peeve. When someone questions Sollars about her wet hands, she has to explain herself and her unique habit.
“When I notice that most people don’t have this pet peeve I wonder why am I so weird to have this pet peeve.”
Andrew Zook, Jr., cannot go a day without cleaning his phone. When Zook looks at a dirty phone he has to clean it. He can’t stand to have something that gets used everyday be so dirty. He cringes and doesn’t want to touch a dirty phone with a lot of fingerprints on it. What surprises Zook is that most people don’t find it as weird to always be cleaning his phone because it’s in everyday use.
“I’m kind of afraid to tell people about my phone issue, I look like I’m some sort of neat-freak but really I’m super messy. I just don’t like seeing something that you use all the time dirty,” Zook said.
