Fundraising for organizations

The sports teams and organizations at Eudora High School annually hold separate fundraisers aimed towards raising as much money for their specific program.  The teams and organizations at Eudora High School annually hold separate fundraisers aimed towards raising.

Choir teacher Ashley Ramirez has been doing fundraising for five years now and loves the way it has been going. All the money that the students collect goes into a separate account specifically set aside for choir.

Fundraising helps the choirs afford new uniforms, purchase sheet music, Platinum expenses, fun activities,  performance trips, and classroom materials. One thing Ramirez does to help motivate them is setting a goal. Everyone wants to make that goal because if you do you get rewarded with a pizza party.

“I enjoy seeing the students get excited when they reach their goals,” said Ramirez. “Some are really passionate about volunteering their time to help our department and make an impact.”

Cheer Coach Abby Reynolds leads another sport that is very involved with fundraising. She has not been fundraising for long but it’s been her goal for the squad to raise more money this year than in previous years. What Reynolds chooses to sell for the cheer fundraising campaign is different than other organizations because she likes selling a variety of things, from candles to sitting in the hot sun doing a bake sale.

The money earned goes towards upgrading uniforms, poms, bows, and to attend various events such as camp and festival. Not only does fundraising help the athletes become accountable, but it also benefits the team by raising enough money that is vital to the success of the program.

Overall Reynolds loves to fundraise because it helps get her team out there and get them to meet new people.

“What I love most is the different experiences you get from fundraising,” said Reynolds, “From bake sales and the people you meet, to selling various items, etc.” Also, the relationships you build through fundraisers with the community or just individuals through the fundraiser are priceless and helps build a positive reputation with the team,” Reynolds said.
