Spring Sports Preview
Softball – Mariah Brown
“I think the thing I love most about softball is it’s ability to take my mind off everything–it’s an outlet for my stress.”
“My only expectation is for every player on the field to give everything they have every single pitch of every single game. I want to walk off the field every day knowing we gave it our all-in a practice or game.”
Baseball – Cameron Foster
“I expect nothing but the best out of my teammates and I expect nothing but my best too.”
“Baseball has been there my whole life and it’s always exciting to be able to grab a bat and walk up to the plate knowing that they can’t run the clock out that’s it. They have to throw the ball over the plate and give you a chance to prove who’s better.”
Girls Track – Halle Norris
“My goals this season, just like every season, are to be the best runner I can be. I don’t like having time or place goals because I feel like for me personally, it is just better to see how fast I can get rather than putting a designated time or place on it.”
“I always have fun with my friends in track. We can socialize and push each other in the warm ups and in the workouts and it’s awesome to have my friends by my side while we all push to be the best we can be.”
Girls Basketball – Chloe Fewins
“My favorite moment in basketball was bonding with the team for the last time.”
“I will miss my senior teammates and the strong bonds we formed over this season the most.”
Boys Basketball – Mason Fawcett
“I will miss the fun we have and the feeling of winning a big game and especially the atmosphere and student section at home. Friday night games with a full crowd are some of the best experiences I have had in my life. I won’t miss the running though, or two-a-days.”
“The season was my favorite one as a whole. Being a bigger role in the game made me feel more engaged and involved with the team and I really enjoyed playing with all of my teammates. If it wasn’t for those guys we wouldn’t have had.”
