EHS Band takes State

The Eudora Cardinal Band is usually very busy, however during the months of April and May they have special events that take up their time. During the past weekend, students from band and choir participated in Regional Solo and Ensemble festival. Students prepare pieces and perform them in front of judges hoping to receive a ‘one’ rating. After receiving a one, students attend the State festival on the 25th in Andover. This competition is a fierce battle between amazing musicians throughout the state.

In addition to the Solo and Ensemble festivals, Eudora band and choir attend State Large Group. This KSHSAA event has been hosted at Eudora high school and middle school for three consecutive years. Both band and choir received one ratings. The band boasted an impressive one rating from each judge, averaging out to be one of the highest scores throughout the festival.

The band concludes their year with a final concert and awards banquet in May. Keep updated and support your music programs here at EHS!
