The Cardinal Online: When and how did you get interested in art?
Jasmine Thevarajoo: I took it in seventh grade because it was required, and then I just liked it and the teachers, so I just kept doing it.
TCO: What is your favorite piece of art you have created and why?
Jasmine Thevarajoo: Probably different things with oil pastels. There’s not one specific thing because there’s just so many different things that can be made.
TCO: What type of role do you think art plays in a society? Why do you think it’s important?
Jasmine Thevarajoo: It helps people stay creative and helps them express themselves in a way that otherwise they really can’t.
TCO: Thinking of your art, what is the most memorable story?
Jasmine Thevarajoo: When we had to study art, it kind of made me want to go and see museums. I have a new interest born from being a part of art.
TCO: Do you see art playing a part in your future?
Jasmine Thevarajoo: I’m not very good at it, so probably not.
