Cardinal’s Nest Embraces Change
By Kenzie Henderson
Whether it is walking to class in the morning, going to lunch, or leaving school all of the students at EHS pass the Cardinal’s Nest nearly every day, but with the new school year comes a new staff and merchandise the students and faculty are sure to love.
Mrs. Brown and the marketing class run this popular stop as if it were a real store. “I like to be involved in school activities that can work around my schedule, plus Mrs. Brown is one of my favorite teachers,” commented junior Carly Hines.
She later predicted that students would love the Gatorade, 5 gum, and the wide variety of snacks.
Through the Cardinal’s Nest students are able to gain real world work experience and learn how marketing is everywhere in the world around us. Workers must choose merchandise to sell, run the register, stock the shelves, and give quality customer service.
Junior Brittany Meyers, who is one the managers at the Cardinal’s Nest, enjoys seeing regular customers in the store “We have a very passionate student that likes to come to the Cardinals Nest every morning and after school who will always pay in dimes or nickels. She is our best customer. We love her,” Meyers chuckled.
Because the Cardinal’s Nest is open before and after school from 7:50-8:05 AM and 3:15-3:30 PM, and the store’s reasonable prices on everything from snacks to school supplies makes the Cardinal’s Nest a destination for anyone at EHS. All the changes that have been made will be shocking to anyone that has not yet stopped by and customers are sure to be pleased when they leave.
