With fall sports getting under way, the soccer team has already had a tight schedule– playing a total of 4 games with one scheduled for tonight. An unfortunate series of losses is the result of a smaller than average team and an unusual amount of injuries. On Tuesday, Sept. 9 the Cardinals traveled to Spring Hill for a varsity game, having to forfeit the JV game due to loss of players.

The pep rally last Friday was inspirational for the team though, honoring two of the players’ sister, Carolyn Hoover, who was rushed to the Emergency Room last Thursday after the game. Also at the pep rally, Coach Emily Gloshen made a plea for additions to the team, as its injured list is astonishing.

Shortly after, many off season athletes committed to playing for the Cards and the team has now grown, and is expected to once again play two games. The Cardinals are to play the DeSoto Wildcats tonight, at 4:30 at Eudora District Stadium.
