Cross Country Season Underway

Last Thursday, the Eudora Cross Country team ran the first meet of the season at Garnett Country Club. The day that the Jerry Howarter Invitational took place was humid and windy, but that didn’t stop the Cardinals.

Varsity girls placed 3rd out of 11 schools. The top varsity placers were sophomore Melanie Reese, junior Sydney Coleman, and sophomore Halle Norris. Overall, Reese placed 25th followed by Coleman at 26th and Norris at 27th. Varsity boys placed 2nd out of 12 schools. Senior Jon Miller and junior Steven Najera were the top varsity placers. Miller finished the race in 9th place, followed by Najera at 11th.

The team will compete again on Saturday, September 13 at Wamego.
