With the new school year comes new freshmen, our newspaper team caught up with a few of them and asked some questions about how they felt about being in a new school with so many older people around them.

We caught up with Brooke Stillian and asked her what she looks forward to most about high school.

She responded with, “I look forward to choir and learning about Shakespeare because I haven’t ever learned about him or his works before.”

When we managed to finally track down Fabian Rosales and asked him how it feels to finally be a freshman he said, “I feel small, the building and everyone around me are so much bigger than last year.”

Jamee McGinness was looking forward to many classes, but one stood out.

He said, “I’m looking forward to geometry, because I enjoy shapes and angles.”

Like all freshmen, Ethan Folks has a lot of things he hopes to accomplish by the time senior year rolls around.

Ethan stated, “When I’m a senior I want to be a leader like my big brother Bret!”

Even with the wide variety of people we interviewed, they all seemed to have the same interests in the new classes and opportunities that high school presented to them. We welcome the class of 2018 as official high schoolers!
