Eudora Wrestling Prepares for Senior Night
By Dylan Monahan
On Saturday, Jan 25 the Cardinal wrestling team traveled to Paola to wrestle in one of the more difficult tournaments on their schedule. The team competed in a 14-team tournament. Earlier in the week many of the team members were sick, but when it all came down to it the team competed hard and wrestled well.
Along with the tough competition and the hard work each individual has put in this year, the team had three athletes who placed in this tournament. Even though some of these athletes work hard everyday after school, they still have to look at how to continue working harder outside of practice and competition to keep their goals in line and be the best they can be.
“I want to have a positive season and make it to state,” said sophomore Noah Kennedy.
Sometimes no matter how hard you work at something though, sometimes it’s better to go the more difficult way instead.
“I couldn’t make it to 126 pounds, so I went with 132 pounds. Wrestling up six pounds is slightly more difficult; it’s more strength based,” Kennedy said.
The wrestlers compete again Tuesday, Jan 28 in Eudora for Senior night. The team only has one senior wrestler, Stephen Ogden, who will be wrestling alongside the rest of his teammates.
