Lady Cards Hit Turbulence On Their Flight To Victory

The Lady Cardinals hosted their second home game of the season against the Wellsville Eagles on Friday, Dec. 20. The ladies had prepared for this matchup by imitating the Eagle’s offense and defense in practice. Their hard work payed off, and they outscored Wellsville 36-19 adding another W to their record book.
On Tuesday, Jan. 7 the ladies traveled to Baldwin to take the rival Bulldogs. The girls started the game strong but couldn’t come out with the win. The Bulldogs won the game 54-37.
The Cardinals hosted a home game against the Desoto Wildcats on Friday, Jan. 10. This matchup was aired on Channel 6 News as the Game of the Week. The Lady Cardinals had a rough game against the Wildcats and lost 38-20.
The Paola Panthers made their way to Eudora on Tuesday, Jan. 14 to take on the ladies on their home court. The ladies played hard but weren’t able to add a win to their record. The Panthers won 54-27.
“I hope that we grow to work better as a team and continue to gel together well. I hope to see us make a good run at state this year with the split divisions” stated an excited Coach Mayer.
The ladies, who have a record of 3-6, will travel to Ottawa on Friday, Jan. 17 to take on the Cyclones.
